Belize Advances to Grand Corruption under the UDP
If our politicians have nothing to hide.....they have nothing to fear! But obviously by not obeying the Prevention of Corruption Act, our elected persons are hiding something!
The BPP stands in Solidarity with Transparency International and the United Nations in observance of 12th Anniversary of International Anti-Corruption Day Dec 9th 2015. The BPP calls on Belize Prime Minister to Sign the UN Convention Against Corruption now!
It seems that most Belizeans are either complacent or complicit in regards to political corruption. Only a handful are not afraid to condemn and unmask the corrupt! What we fail to realize is that corruption is like quicksand that will first swallow the middle class, then the poor and eventually the whole country collapses. The BPP is sounding the call, we shall stand up and warn Belize. Greece, where democracy was birthed, is a perfect example of economic collapse.
Harboring and facilitating the escape of an International fugitive wanted in a 7 Billion Ponzi scam now places Belize in the big leagues of corrupt countries. We have gone from Petty corruption under PUP Plutocracy to Grand Corruption under the UDP kleptocracy! Make no double, birds of a feather flock together! There are more David Banes Schnitzer's in Belize, hiding behind false identities facilitated by a corrupt UDP government! Estimates circulating say Schnitzer's "legal" escape from Belize enriched quite a few to the tune of millions. Join the BPP on Dec 9 and Denounce Corruption!
Fitting to share this little bit of history as the Belize Progressive Party observes Dec 9, International Ant-Corruption Day. The 1912 Progressive Party Platform, attributed to Roosevelt, stated as one goal: "To destroy this invisible Government, to dissolve the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day.”
In a country of 350k, the BPP was confident that we could clean corruption and we committed to start with signing UNCAC on Dec 9th. In a country of 44 million, ranked 119 on the Corruption Index 2014, all the world is praising the New President of Tanzania for his swift action to clean up corruption. The BPP congratulates the Tanzanian electorate for their wise choice and the President John Magufuli for his political will to create a better life for his people.
Join us as we stand against corruption, today, Dec 9th., international Anti-Corruption Day. The BPP will be on Plus TV at 7:30 am. We will then picket the sitting of the Senate at the National Assembly at 9 a.m. Please join us!
