From The Chairman's Desk - 12 Days of Anti-Corruption Activism

Belizeans and true friends of Belize,

Are you aware that today is Day 3 of the Belize Progressive Party (BPP)'s "12 Days of Anti-Corruption Activism" leading up to the commemoration of the 12th Anniversary of Anti-Corruption Day?

If not, we urge you to take notice and join us in raising the awareness, as to the inexcusable and untenable level of corruption that is now par for the course, in Belize!

Case in point, although the PUDP 'powers that be' fundamentally refuse to sign the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), there is actually local legislation in the form of Prevention of Corruption Act (2007), that is geared to aid in the fight against corruption. It requires that all elected officials declare their assets.

In keeping with our fundamental value of a zero-tolerance for corruption, the BPP is calling on all elected officials, both past and present (circa 2007) to kindly adhere to the Act, if they have yet to do so.

In sum, if they have not declared, they have continually accrued fines, under the law. Those monies, by right, must be paid!

With this in mind, I invite you to visit the BPP's website for further information.

Join in the fight to ensure that a zero-tolerance for corruption becomes the rule as opposed to the exception.
