Chairman Paco Speaks on Abdul Majeed Nunez Poem On Sarstoon FOB
Instead of people waxing poetic about the minimalist effort that our government has undertaken, in the form what what they are touting as a Forward Operating Base, we need to call a spade a spade.
This poem by Abdul Marin Nunez, is precisely the word of protest, the Belizean people should embrace and adopt, so as to tell the proverbial emperor that, in fact, "Fool the taak, but fool no the listen".
Before certain elements get bent out of shape, let me clarify this not an indictment of our men and women in uniform, as we realise they are not the "decision makers". So in that regard, we recognise, in particular, Admiral Borland and the rest of our security forces for their commitment to defend the jewel and on the same token, we call out our piss-poor politicians for this farce of an edifice which is testimony to their incompetence and lack of fortitude to stand up for Belize.
To boot, the OAS Secretary General should have been on hand to see the aggressive and illegal maneuvers of the Guatemalan Armed Forces (GAF), in Belize's territorial waters, during the so-called "inauguration" of this "Death Trap".
Belizeans and true friends of Belize, the time to save this country is, NOW, before the PUDP continue to hand it over, piece by piece, to the Guatemalans, on the behest of the OAS.
As always, I invite you to not only THINK ABOUT IT...but to also TAKE DEFINITIVE ACTION TOWARD MAKING A DIFFERENCE.
This can be achieved by supporting the BTV on Saturday, 30th April on its voyage to Sarstoon Island, in commemoration of the 157th Anniversary of the signing of the 1859 Treaty which acknowledged the border between the former British Honduras (Belize) and Guatemala.
