Barrow's Administration Has Learned Nothing In Dealing With Guatemala

Belize and Guatemala Sign Declaration of Peace in Managua

This is pure B.S.!

These bloody imbeciles have learned absolutely nothing thus far, in terms of with whom they are dealing. Guatemala shall sign onto anything, but as far as they are concerned, its not worth the paper that was used. They are, indeed, serial agreement-violators.

The only demonstration of PEACE that is meaningful is, insofar as I am concerned is for Guatemala to: (1) retreat from the Sarstoon River and cease all aggression toward Belizeans, (2) officially apologise for the unprovoked aggression their forces have imposed upon our people and military, (3) commit to preventing their people from illegally entering our territory and violating our sovereignty and (4) officially denounce

their age-old, unfounded claim to our sovereign territory once and for all.

Belizeans and true friends of Belize, this is but another ploy by the powers that be, to misinform and disarm the Belizean people. More disturbing is the fact that the Dean Barrow administration is complicit in this foolishness, once again. Amid the unprovoked aggression from Guatemala they shamelessly, persisted in referring to them as our "peace partners". So, fundamentally, this is nothing but a poppy-show to try and further deceive the people.

This is what un-nerves me, when people call for "political unity". How in the world can we have "political unity", when the powers that be are actively working against what is in the best interest of Belize? I invite you to pick sense from the nonsense. Simply put, seeking "political unity" is basically a euphemism for "get back in line and ride with the (misguided) programme". For all those who are calling for "political unity", I implore you to take an in-depth look at the matter at hand.

Case in point, since the signing of the Compromis in 2008, each time Guatemala has violated the agreement, the political directorate has summarily given them a pass. Guatemalans killed Danny Conorque, they kidnapped Belizeans and took them to Livingston, they continue to rape our natural resources and most recently, they have annexed our portion of the Sarstoon River...yet the powers that be, continue with their piss-poor, FAILED "4A Policy" of: APPEASEMENT, ACCOMMODATION, ACQUIESCENCE and ADHERENCE; and you want me to seek political unity with a group of traitors who are fundamentally doing their best to give Guatemala what they want?

Its time to get real. Political unity will not solve this issue of paramount importance. It necessitates the people of this nation, preferably via civil society, to demonstrate to the PUDP that we are not pleased with their willful negligence and that, irrespective of having won the most recent general election, they are not fit to lead this nation. There is a time and a place for everything and the time is now, for civil society to step-up and make your power be known.

The principles in your Belize Progressive Party - BPP have been right on this matter from the onset. We continue to provide critical analysis, in addition to meaningful action, to ensure the citizenry of this nation understand that we are; committed, qualified and ready to lead this nation on the path to retrieving that which have lost and steering this nation toward greater equity, through sustainable development, meanwhile securing our borders. Belize has lost face in the international community due to the Fifth Columnist administration of Dean Oliver Barrow. Hence the time is now, to embrace a new political consciousness.

If you are serious about making substantive change, Belizeans and true friends of Belize, don't fool yourselves and think that "political unity" shall prove the panacea to what ails Belize. In keeping with the notion expressed by none other than Albert Einstein, "In order to effectively solve a problem, one cannot seek to go back to the very source which created it."

Certainly those truthful words are a tough pill for those whose chosen political affinities run deep. But if you understand what is necessitated to effectively transform this nation from the sorry state in which it is, then it is clear what must be done.

My advice is to remain vigilant and not be swayed by these frivolous attempts to perpetuate this untenable situation and recognise that only you can make the change, necessary to give Belize a chance to stand-up to Guatemala and rid ourselves of the Fifth Columnist element, which persists in playing dangerous games with our sovereignty and territorial integrity.
