Re-Registration Now, Demands Belize Progressive Party
News 5: Last week the People’s United Party complained of Government’s plans to postpone re-registration once again, this time to after the 2018 municipal elections.
Belizeans and true friends of Belize,
The essence of good governance necessitates the willingness aka "political will" of those in positions of authority, to do what is in the best interest of our nation.
In that regard, your Belize Progressive Party - BPP demands that government proceed with the mandatory re-registration process. It is now over a decade and a half since the Voter's List has been cleaned and vetted and in keeping with our principled stance, the blame for that lies squarely on the shoulders of both the PUP and the UDP, as both have facilitated delaying this much-needed good governance exercise, to the extent that the last time it was undertaken was in 2000!
Therefore, we encourage one and all to call a spade a spade. The current noise being made by the Opposition, is hypocritical and the intended move by the Dean Barrow administration is yet another, blatant display for the contempt his government has for the rule of law.
Civil society and its associates, along with the people of Belize are encouraged to join in the demand that re-registration be undertaken on-time, without exception.
It is only when we hold our elected officials accountable for that which they were vested to do, shall we move our nation forward, in a progressive fashion.
